“Post club” is a term used to group genre-blurring dance music. 2020 is literally post-club. We made a post-club for our post-club at postclub.club (enter the URL to play the composition/game in your browser).
Re-imagining music performance as a computer game created an opportunity to go wild with avatar creation. We made little devils out of melted metal and in place of a DJ we referenced the deity of fame who has multiple mouths, ears, and eyes, along with wings and a vuvuzela. We used a Kinect sensor for motion capture and when you load the postclub in your browser of choice (except don’t use Safari) your computer will start to breathe heavily like it too is dancing!
